Guesthouse holiday rentals in Berkeley

I was in the Bay Area for a work trip but wanted to find a quiet, safe spot to decompress. This garden and cabin were perfect! Everything was impeccably clean, and I loved that there is an emphasis on sustainability with a provided compost container - it's usually very difficult to stay eco-conscious while on the road. The animals were so soothing to be around! It got very chilly at night with some unusually cold weather for the area, but there were ample space heaters. The bathroom was small but very clean - I didn't get to use the shower since I was at a gym every day, but the tub was spacious. The hosts were very kind and offered to carry luggage and checked in if things were okay when we crossed paths. Street parking was extremely easy. I definitely recommend this spot!

The cottage was perfect for my stay! All the essentials in the little kitchen, everything was exactly as described. Extremely quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here.

If you need to stay in West Berkeley, this is a very convenient spot. The cottage is unusual and artistic. We particularly enjoyed the upstairs kitchen with loads of windows.

I’m a frequent traveler to the BBH. Barb and Ken really do a great job and are very attentive. If you’re searching reviews for a deciding factor - I can’t say enough good things about these wonderful people. (Unless your booking conflicts with mine. Then stay away. ). ;)

Quiet backyard pool house, compact and cozy. Just perfect for staying while I visited family in the area. Host very accommodating and responsive. Didn’t get the chance to use the hot tub, but it was right on the deck next to the house so would be convenient! Was cool when I arrived, but the heater worked great and was quiet and heated up quickly.

Everything was great. Heidi was very responsive and thoughtful to our needs. Wish we had more time to visit walkable restaurants

We , and our lil pup absolutely loved this place. We were in awe of the beautiful koi fish pond and surrounding garden. This place is beyond beautiful and so very peaceful. Our host was very helpful w/ check in and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure our packages were secured and or delivered personally to our door. Our lil pup really loved exploring the gardens and got excited every morning to greet her koi friends. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back.

The quest house is esthetically nice and well equipped. I enjoyed looking out to the patio with the bamboo screen and greenery. The location is very convenient to the freeway. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay

Mira was quick to respond and provided clear directions. Her place is in a quiet residential neighborhood. It’s bright and airy and had everything we needed for our short stay! Will certainly stay again!

Perfect stay in a stunning location. The tiny house is so clean, well stocked, and in a gorgeous location and neighborhood. So comfortable and close to sights and dining in Berkeley, it’s a gem. Would definitely stay again.

Clean, comfortable, private, great location, easy parking. Not super quiet (early morning noise upstairs), but not overly loud either. Great bathtub. Neighborhood felt safe.

Great stay here. Quiet, clean, well stocked and ready to live in. Very nice backyard. Two choices for sleeping. Nespresso with coffe pods. Toasty warm the heaters even thogh yhe area had cold mornings. Barry was great to work with. Smallish sized place.

Had a relaxing stay at Sudhir’s listening. Located in a convenient area yet quiet and I really appreciated the peaceful mornings. Listening has pretty much all you need from comfy bed, cooking tools and washing machine for a longer stay. I had a minor issue during the stay but Sudhir was very prompt to respond and fixed it quickly. I’d love to come back again :)

Mary's cottage is our favorite place to stay on our regular visits to Alameda. It is always clean and well-furnished with everything we might need. Mary and Steve are great hosts as well, responsive and always looking out to see if there is anything they can do for us.

Stayed here for about 2 weeks while in between places! Was very comfortable, felt safe, and in a great location. Steven was very responsive and helpful any time I had questions. Check in was fairly easy. The lock gave us some trouble getting jammed a couple of times but Steven was able to get it fixed and replaced in a reasonable amount of time. Kitchen was equipped with most essentials. Didn’t have a pot but I was able to make do with the pans/kettle just fine. At check in, I think it was a previous guest that left trash behind but it was easy to find the bins to dispose of. Bathroom was clean. Water pressure for the shower was nice too. I’m usually particular about bathrooms but I was happy to with this. Living room was comfortable. It was cold so it would’ve been nice to have a small throw blanket but I found a portable heater in the bedroom that worked well. Bedroom was cozy with a workspace for WFH which was the highlight for me. Spotty wifi at times but mostly worked well.

This is a lovely little place conveniently located near North Berkeley and University Village. It's a safe family neighborhood with parking. Raquel is very responsive and I highly recommend this accommodation.

I loved my stay absolutely would recommend staying here. Saw people reviewed it was cold but he has heaters that warm up the whole place in 10 mins no problem. Fast to respond and very accommodating! Very clean place and felt right at home and area was nice! Super friendly hosts. Would 100% stay here again!

Great home in a great location. The house was a very quick Uber drive into the city. The layout of the home was perfect for our group also. The kitchen wasn't very stocked but had the basics to cook with.

The guesthouse was the perfect place to explore Mill Valley! It’s ideally located just minutes from downtown, with easy access to great restaurants and bars. The house was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The view was breathtaking, and the hot tub nestled among the redwoods was the ultimate highlight. Suzanne also recommended a visit to Almonte Spa for massages, and we’re so glad we followed her advice—it was an unforgettable experience! We truly had a relaxing and memorable stay, and would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting the area.
