Tara’s Hill Cottage

AnthonyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Stayed here for a weekend mid-January with my partner and had an amazing time, the cottage is absolutely beautiful exactly as shown in the pictures provided and so well heated it didn’t feel like the middle of winter at all. Over the weekend we were able to go out for some great meals and other activities as it’s so close to Newcastle town and Tullymore forest which was such a peaceful walk my partner and I both enjoyed very much. The hot tub was incredible and so clean as was the house when we arrived I can’t recommend this place enough it’s truly a hidden gem and we’ll definitely be back in the future.

Dree Cottage with Hot Tub & Stove

ElnaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We recently stayed at this incredible place and can’t believe I didn’t find it sooner! With breathtaking views of the Mourne Mountains and the tranquility of the countryside, it was the perfect escape. The house is fully equipped and feels like a home away from home. The hot tub was the cherry on top, offering a relaxing soak with stunning scenery. Brendan, the host, is very responsive and truly values his guests, making the experience even better. The pictures don’t do this place justice—it’s even more beautiful in person! We left rejuvenated and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

Mike's place was just beautiful and peaceful. Me and my boyfriend had an amazing time and enjoyed the projector for movies, the hottub all day and especially at night watching the stars. The Lookout, Ballyhalbert- cottage with sea views

MollyRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Myself and my family stayed at the look out for one night and it was so gorgeous! Beautifulllll views, such a cool vibe inside, lovely and cosy and relaxing! Would recommend for a chilled night away! We had our one year old with us and they were very accommodating with a high chair and a travel cot, the only thing if I was coming again I would bring a stair gate as there is no door from the living area to the stairs so that was a bit of a worry but everything else was absolutely perfect and Jennifer was easy to contact and had some recommendations for us also ☺️ would highly recommend the look out!

Ferryhill Cottage

LindseyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Comfortable cottage in beautiful countryside surroundings but conveniently close to family in Newry. Helen made us feel very welcome making sure the house was warm and well lit ready for when we arrived late in the evening. She is an attentive but not intrusive host, ensuring we had found the place and everything was OK. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom functional and the lounge and bedroom warm and restful. We very much enjoyed our Christmas week in lovely Ferryhill Cottage and certainly hope to return soon.

Clenaghans - Self-catering Stone Cottage

MichaelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was a pleasant surprise. The cottage was difficult enough to find but that was because we arrived around midnight. We circled around a bit but thankfully Ivan came out of his own house on a cold winter's night to chaperone us into the cottage. I don't know if Ivan has architectural experience but the touches on the cottage are exquisite. Whoever designed them had a tasteful eye as there were some lovely nooks and crannies and some lovely fittings. Thankfully, Ivan had left some basic foods for us, so we could have a light snack or breakfast each morning. We loved his place and got lucky with a reasonably priced Michelin rated restaurant in Moira (fifteen minutes away) called Wine and Brine, which had superb food. Worth staying with Ivan just for the close access to this jewel of a restaurant. Would highly recommend his beautiful cottages.

Sally was always very quick to reply and instructions were clear. We arrived very late and the cottage was warm and welcoming. Everything was clean and it had what we needed, even better than the photo's. The area is beautiful, lovely and quiet and it wasn't too far from family we were there to visit for Christmas. Thank you Sally, we enjoyed our stay.

Rural off grid staycation hideaway

JamieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Lovely place, nicely designed with underfloor heating and a log burner. Claire was responsive and quickly replaced the batteries in the thermostats for us when they died so there was zero impact on the temperature 👌 Bed is MASSIVE and very nice. En-suite bathroom is lovely although be careful on the toilet as it’s next to the radiator 🔥 The setting was awesome. Waking up to sunrise in the hills with a cup of tea was lush. Horses would hang out in the field next door. It was absolutely silent and serene. It’s also quite easy to access from the nearby town, which has a fantastic shop combining their own products with some from Co-op and some from Morrisons! Plus if you CBA to cook they have homemade ready meals, like a little tub of pasta bolognese you could warm up. While you’re visiting NI I recommend getting some Barry’s tea 🤌 it’s awesome and especially with that split back door open at the top watching the 🌅🐴 it’s beautiful.

Hazelbrook Cottage: A country retreat with a view

JamesRating, 5 stars4 months ago
This was the perfect getaway, the location was picture perfect. A babbling brook just outside the door, great garden furniture, uninterrupted panoramic views of Slieve Gullion and surrounding hills with only green fields, sheep and the occasions mooing from cattle. But most of all was the birdsong, morning and night. The accomodation was understated and was the most comfortable welcoming air bandb that I have ever stayed in. The beds were wonderful, the reclining furniture in the living room was excellent. The kitchen sparkling was more than adequately equipped with all the essentials plus more. Bathroom was pristine. The attention to detail both with the property, and with Moiras care and communication were second to non. A great welcoming package with local maps and info made sightseeing a piece of cake. The village of Mullaghbawn has everything one could need and is a very friendly little place. It really was with sadness that we packed up to leave Highly recommended. Thanks Moira.

Had a great stay at the cottage. Inside is beautiful and unique. The place was spotless, has everything you need and more. Louise was amazing leaving us some treats during our stay. Great location if you want to go into Belfast city with about 25 minutes. We visited the Christmas markets but were happy to get back and spend time in the cottage. We loved our weekend stay and would love to return again.

Luxury Rural Retreat

AmanoRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Francis' cottage is an amazing place for a rural getaway in view of Slieve Gullion. It's really a dream setup with everything you need for exploring South Armagh. The fire was amazing on cold stormy nights. The kitchen in very well equipped. The bedroom is huge and really comfy. The bathroom is lovely and has great water pressure. Francis is a kind and responsive host who gives great advice about the area. I'd love to stay again.
