Holiday houses in Balephuil

Myself and my husband had a fantastic weekend in the Captain’s Cabin. We’ve been lucky enough to stay in a range of Airbnb properties over the past few years - some quite unique, but none quite as unique as this one! The attention to detail is second to none, with such a fascinating array of objects throughout the cabin, and the perfectly positioned windows to the breathtaking view beyond. We also hadn’t realised the Alexander McCall Smith link when we booked so that was a nice surprise when we arrived. We’d love to return in the spring/summer next year to see how the landscape has changed with the seasons.

What a lovely house! Spacious, beautifully decorated with lots of natural materials, feels super cozy. It has everything you need and I especially liked the large kitchen. Traveling with two children we tend to cook a lot and it was a joy to do it here. The three (!) bathrooms are also super convenient. It was quite warm, so we didn't use the fireplace, but I bet it's lovely in winter. The horses right next to the backyard were a nice surprise (they like being fed and come around regularly :-) )! It's not too far into town with its shops, Cafés, restaurants etc. and of course the harbour (do the Staffa Tour if you have the time, well worth it). Finally, Alison herself was a great host. She provides any information you could need and answered super quickly when we had a small issue. We stayed a week on the island and couldn't have asked for a more perfect home. If we are lucky enough to come back to Tobermory one day, I'll certainly book this house again.

We had a great stay. Lovely views over Loch Schridain from the dining room, lounge and some of the bedrooms. Saw dolphins leaping out of the water in Loch Scridain. Premises clean and uncluttered. Location is great for exploring the Ross of Mull and southern Mull.

Our visit to Ella's place on Mull exceeded expectations! The Blue House instantly felt like home, with all the amenities we needed. Located in a quiet area just a short distance from Tobermory, it’s the perfect spot for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with easy access to the town. The 10 minute walk into Tobermory was very pleasant. Ella was an excellent host, providing clear instructions and great recommendations for the area. The Blue House, part of a vibrant row of homes, felt like a beautiful homage to Tobermory's iconic colorful houses along the harbor. We highly recommend this charming house to anyone visiting the area and look forward to returning in the future!

Honestly had the loveliest time- never left the area and had a lovely relaxing Xmas break- which was what I was looking for. Lovely peaceful and scenic walks (with some wildlife- otters, seals, heron, sea eagles), from the cottage and feels very private with a lovely view from the window (even in gloomy weather)- almost right on the beach. Cally was very friendly and helpful and the place felt so cosy with a wood burning fireplace! Thanks for everything!

We could not have had a better stay at Vanessa’s cottage. Everything was perfect. It’s lovely and clean with stunning decor. A compact kitchen with all of the essentials. There is a lovely view of the sea from the kitchen window. Tobermory is only a short walk away. We really enjoyed getting cosy in front of the wood burning stove in the evening. From start to finish Vanessa was a really friendly and responsive host. Thanks for a great stay Vanessa. ❤️

We had an amazing stay at Eileen's cottage. The house looked even better than in the photos! Modern and very cosy. It has reliable wi-fi which was important for us to work remotely. Eileen and Louise were very friendly and responsive. Overall, a great cottage in an amazing place, hosted by nice people. Thank you! :)

Beautifully decorated and well appointed home. Great location - 5 min walk from the co-op, 15 mins walk to the centre of Castlebay. We stayed with our two young kids and their grandparents. Everyone was comfortable, there were appropriately designed bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate all ages. The house was warm throughout and features a comfy living room, big dining table - and a bright and welcoming kitchen with a nice, smaller table for breakfast. Definitely hope to stay here again and happily recommend.

We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our family getaway. Jeremy and Claire ensured we had excellent directions to find the place and were lovely hosts. The steading itself is beautifully designed and makes for an ideal escape. Lots of good memories made!
