Parking at top of drive may be necessary for rear-wheel drive cars during any season and non-4WD cars during snow.

Helene Update: We are grateful that Stargazer Cabin and our town of Abingdon did not sustain any damage. Restaurants and businesses are open and would love your support! The Virginia Creeper Trail is accessible from Abingdon to Damascus. The Virginia Creeper Trail Bike shop is a great source of information and bike rentals. River Hill Hideaway is a cozy place of respite from the whirlwind called life. You can fish for bass, catfish and sunfish in the pond, or relax on the deck and listen to the river (if you can hear it over the crickets and frogs). The Little River (a trout stocked stream) bends just around the back of the property and you are welcome to fish there or enjoy the swimming hole. Be sure to get a NC fishing license if you plan to fish in the Little River.
