Farmstay holiday rentals in Alto Alentejo

Idyllic, peaceful, beautiful. It was the perfect setting for a few days of peace over the holidays. We left feeling absolutely rejuvenated. The cabins were perfect, felt private. All the cork trees were amazing - such good vibes. The animals on the farm were all adorable. Would be a great place in summer when the pool is usable. The farm looks like a nice place for a wedding or other milestone family celebration for those who love nature. We would definitely visit again :)

Our stay at this beautifully restored cottage in the farmhouse was absolutely wonderful. The location is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by the lush greenery of Serra d'Aire and Candeeiros, the property offered a serene atmosphere that made it feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage itself was cozy and thoughtfully restored, blending traditional Portuguese charm with modern comforts. We loved the quiet, sunny environment, and the views of the surrounding rural landscape were breathtaking. It was the ideal setting to relax and recharge. The location is also convenient, being just 5 km from the Marian Sanctuary of Fatima, so you can easily explore the area while still enjoying the peace and tranquility of the countryside. Overall, this is the perfect retreat for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a stunning natural setting. Highly recommend!

The house is in a private estate, the entrance of the estate is on the same road so if you go with a city car, no problem, barely pisas terra. The house has everything you need as far as utensils, board games. Large fireplace and radiators. Very attentive and friendly hosts. If I have to put a pega it would be the mattress, it can be improved. In short, it's worth it in terms of value for money.

Beautiful place. Very quiet and peaceful. Fady was very helpful in finding resources in the area that I needed. I took some lovely walks in the village and the people were very friendly. The place was very nice, with a comfortable bed, and it had everything I needed.

Very quiet and cozy place. We were made to feel very welcome by the host's parents, who were very nice and kind. Vera has many suggestions for things to do in the area. Very strategic location to get to know the entire Lisbon region.

Extremely clean and tidy house. Fair value. We do not like the birds trapped in the cage, but when talking to Lady Isabel, she took them out of the house. I also did not understand the questions about what we did and our nationality is the later need to fill out a document from Aima(formerly SEF), had never asked for anything like that in all the other local accommodations, but I am already confirming this need with AIMA, to better understand. i am generally satisfied with the facilities.

Our stay at this property was excellent. The house is extremely spacious, with 5 bedrooms, a very well-decorated rustic living room (all well thought out and with very good taste) and 3 very clean and functional bathrooms. Both the beds and the bed linens and towels were comfortable and of high quality. Very well-equipped kitchen, with several utensils, which made preparing meals very easy. The dining area on the porch, overlooking the typical Alentejo landscape, created a great atmosphere for our group lunches. The rooms of the house are equipped with air-conditioning (essential for the hottest days). In short, the house offers everything you need for a relaxing and pleasant stay. I highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay at Antonio's, the communication for check-in was perfect. Her house is very cute, a little rustic, at the bottom of the Roman road to go for a walk. The garden is very beautiful. Very quiet place (March), except the road for one of the 2 bedrooms but it is not very busy. Very good place to get away from the city, while being close to places to visit.

Beautiful and secluded house in a pine forest. Close to small villages and Sesimbra, with tasty local restaurants and shops. Jorge and Virgílio kindly shared many recommendations, which all proved to be great. We rented the house for a Christmas vacation. Jorge was a welcoming host! Great fireplace with plenty of wood provided by the hosts. The main house is beautifully decorated and spacious, with plenty of natural light. The kitchen is well equipped, where you can cook and serve for a large party. Downside was the old/outdated appliances, but they worked fine. The bedrooms and beds were comfortable, even if a little odd as two of the bedrooms had two double beds, which may be a little confusing when booking for a large group. The house felt cold even with the central heating on. We had to keep an eye on the gas tanks to make sure they don’t run out- maybe better as a summer vacation home! As many houses in Portugal, there was a strong smell of mold. Overall a great stay!

Really charming and peaceful place. Very spacious and easily kept warm by a fireplace with plenty of wood provided. Sandrine and Julien were extremely friendly, and has no problem when I caught an earlier train and asked to change my check-in. I was extremely happy with my stay.

Quinta Brigadeiro is a delightful place to stay. We received such a warm welcome from all the family and all the animals. Within five minutes of arrival we were feeding carrots to their donkeys and their dog. The accommodation itself is well designed, understated and uncluttered. It was lovely to be in a peaceful, rural area but with the amenities and attractions of Évora a short drive away. Thank you for sharing, we enjoyed our few days with you.

A very quiet place perfect for taking a break during a hectic trip. Very nice well-equipped accommodation in the Portuguese countryside. I would recommend this place as a rest stop.

Very nice space according to everything the listing mentioned. Ideal for disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with an atmosphere of calm and relaxing nature. Maria was always very helpful both in relation to the stay as well as providing information about places and events in the vicinity. I highly recommend the space.

Little piece of paradise. Very secluded in an incredible natural park. Our dogs loved roaming around the house all day, while we enjoyed the coze house. The environment is perfect if you like to hike. Daniel is an excellent host. We’ll be back for sure,

We stayed at the property with a group of 6 adults and 5 children for a week. All in all, we were completely satisfied. The house has a few age-related quirks (windows and sliding doors sometimes difficult to open), which has not limited our satisfaction. The spaces were sparkling clean, the pool was great, and there were even sand toys and umbrellas for the kids. Great is also that the house is so big so not all guests wake up when a baby screams at night. We had a great time in Lourinha and would be happy to come back!

Diane’s home is a beautiful oasis in Castelo de Vide. The home has been lovingly and artistically restored and has many special touches. The outdoor garden space is the nicest we have seen in Portugal. Unfortunately, we arrived on a very cold day and it was cold inside. It would have been perfect if the weather had been warmer.

We have had a very enjoyable time here. We have relaxed on the terrace, enjoyed the peace and comfort of your spacious and uncluttered home, explored the village and its surroundings and had many fine walks along the lagoon and by the sea. You do need a car! Shopping at 1 of 2 large supermarkets is super easy and only 10 minutes away. We have had a few excellent meals out and Robert’s book of places to go to and things to do has been invaluable. There is an excellent express bus to Lisbon at almost all times of day (50 minutes) with a large free carpark adjacent. Finally, but definitely not least, is Maria Jose who has been so helpful, friendly and informative. She is truly integral to the house and its comfort. One word of caution - there are many open stairs and steps in this house which may be a challenge to less agile people. Many thanks to our excellent hosts Robert and Saskia!

Raquel and her family were so accommodating with our check-in and so friendly. They gave us great advice on things to do in the area. The house is absolutely spectacular! It is even better than the pictures. The pool area is fantastic and our 3 kids loved it. We had everything we needed and more. The location is great and the local town is beautiful.
