Holiday houses in Akranes

Perfect house for a group of friends. We spent New Years Eve there and loved it. We even had the luck to see a massive aurora on New Years Eve which made the place even more magical :-) We enjoyed the hot tub, the quiet location and the great kitchen and living room. Beds were comfy, too. Only thing was that the instructions for the hot tub werent up to date and it took a little until we solved it. Other than that everything was perfect :-)

David’s place was perfect! The pictures are exactly what the flat looks like in person! David was kind enough to allow me to check in early which was amazing given that my flight arrived at 7am! I know that’s not always possible and I appreciated his flexibility. David also provided me information on parking nearby, which was helpful since there is no parking with the flat. I would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was thoughtfully decorated. Also, a private and peaceful place close to bigger town and outdoor attractions.

The location of this property couldn’t have been more perfect. Each day we were within an hours drive from major sights and activities including: thingvellir and silfra, gulfoss and geyser, Rejkavik, blue lagoon and seljalandsfoss. Selfoss is accessible and the geothermal park in hvererageroi was fab. The remoteness created the perfect conditions away from built up areas and we were thrilled to see the northern lights twice - viewing them from the hot tub made it feel even more special. House was tidy with everything we needed and just as described. Instructions to get there and responses from Gunhilder were excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this property for a self drive action packed Icelandic holiday.

We loved it! As a group of women, spending beautiful time together in our favorite fjord by cooking, late night talks, sitting in a hot tub under the stars and auroras, long walks to the island, seeing seals and warming up in the sauna afterwards… Precious! The surroundings are incredible! The house is a dream, the view is unbelievable and everything is super clean and the kitchen is well stocked. Sarah was always helping us when I reached out. Amazing communication. I’d say it’s perfectly comfortable for people who know each other well and maybe no more than 8-9 people if you stay a few days, especially in the winter when you’re mostly inside.

This is a place I could’ve stayed at for a long time. A fantastically stocked kitchen and spacious living area. It comes across much larger than advertise. The best part of the place is its peaceful serenity, and its wonderful view. Good central location for doing day trips to check out many great locations that South Iceland provides. Would definitely stay here again, and again and again and again. 😊

We had an amazing stay! The view was spectacular, everything was clean, the beds were super comfy and the kitchen was really well equipped. Would highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at Geir’s family home! This was an incredible place to spend the new year and we would absolutely return! The location is perfect. We were able to walk outside the city lights a short distance to get an amazing view of the northern lights. A designated lookout is also a short car ride away. Plus, downtown Reykjavík is a short car or bus ride away! It could also be a good walk for those who like to hike.
