Tatsuya-san and Reiko-san were so welcoming and helpful, they provided gifts for us, personally guided us when we got lost on our way to find the place. The house was beautiful, well stocked kitchen, private onsen was gorgeous and as amazing as I had hoped. One of the highlights of our trip for sure. The address provided isn't exact on a GPS probably because of the mountainous area, it's best to follow Tatsuya-san's instructions instead. There are also multiple supermarkets on the drive there if you're going by car, which Tatsuya-san also provides guidance for.

This home is spectacular! We spent two nights in this beautiful house and felt right at home! Homma was very responsive and so kind to help us with the heating and a ride to the train station! We were able to walk to a variety of restaurants as well as the drug store which also has essential foods. We absolutely loved the view onto the ocean! Thank you, Homma!

It was the best space I can feel most confidently staying in the accommodation I've ever stayed in!Especially, breakfast was made of local ingredients, and I was able to get a really delicious breakfast that you can only taste in Nishiwaga Town while looking at the snowy scenery!The host and his wife were also very warm and perfectly supported everything we wanted to do, including a bonfire, a lot of climbing in Takada, pizza making, and it was an unforgettable memory! It is a place where you can feel the hometown of Japan that you will definitely want to return to once you visit. It is recommended for more than 2 nights at a slow time!

We had a wonderful stay! Even though we had originally told the host we’d be checking in later, we ended up arriving early—and she was kind enough to come meet us right away after we updated her. She greeted us warmly and gave us a thorough walkthrough of the entire property, explaining everything clearly. The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning mountain views. We truly loved our stay and definitely plan to come back!

Best sleep we had so far on a 4 week tour of Japan! Place smelled on incense which absolutely lovely. Very cozy and warm yet spacious despite windy and rainy outside. Beautifully kept place, feeling more like someone’s home vs a transactional residence. Museums right outside the door of the property. Masaki-San helped connect us with a taxi which was super helpful as we lacked telephony and it was storming when we left. He was also kind enough to offer recommendations for restaurants which was much appreciated given our rather late arrival on a Sunday night. All-in-all a wonderful and too quick a visit for an off-the-beaten path village.

A very pleasant stay. Great hospitality. Natsuki-san has been very helpful, kind, polite and friendly throughout our stay. We actually extended one more day of our stay. The house is clean and well equipped with everything you need. Washing machine and dryer are provided. Very convenient for people like us who travel light. Natsuki-san provided us transport to and from the homestay and the nearest train station. Brought us to temple to experience local tradition on new year eve. One of the best hosts I have ever met. Highly recommended!

We stayed two nights here and enjoyed it so much. The room was very comfortable and the staff was so friendly and helpful. ANA lost our luggage and the staff of CAMOSIBA coordinated with them on our behalf to have it delivered at the hostel, which we appreciated beyond words. The breakfast at the hostel was also very delicious— I really recommend it. The heater worked great for the cold nights we stayed there, and the owner gave us great recommendations on food in the area— there are lots of great restaurants within walking distance and also very close to the station. I would absolutely stay here again!

I had a wonderful stay here! The private area was exactly what I was looking for – peaceful and quiet. The host and co-host were both incredibly approachable and made me feel very welcome. The added bonus of train station pick-up and drop-off was so convenient and truly appreciated. I also enjoyed the opportunity to try some of their Sake – a lovely touch! April was a fantastic time to visit, with the beautiful Sakura in full bloom and perfectly mild weather that didn't require any heating.

Lake Towada Lake (you can see the lake from the house!)It is a rental villa in, and the surrounding natural environment is very beautiful. I was very quick to respond when there was a problem, and I had a comfortable stay! We had everything we needed for the BBQ, and it was very impressive that it was equipped with dishes and cooking utensils! If I have the chance to go to Lake Towada or Oirase Stream again, I'd love to come back again!!

The most helpful thing was that they picked us up and dropped us off at the nearest Nitsui station. There is no doubt that it will be a meaningful time to hear a lot of stories.

I wanted a rural and rustic winter experience in Akita and this place delivered everything I'd hoped for. It is a gorgeous and secluded spot that's a good bit away from everything but not too far. Nozomi and his family were kind and gracious hosts. I was sad to leave.

Teisuke san and Nobuko san welcomed us warmly and kindly to their wonderful home. The house corresponds exactly to the description on the internet - an old Japanese house especially great because you were allowed to share it with Teisuke san and Nobuko san. Bedroom (tatami mats & futons) was already prepared, the space was very cozy! The location is good, everything in the city as well as the train station are within walking distance. Teisuke san has prepared a small menu of restaurant suggestions. Bathrooms and toilets are shared (all provided!). The breakfast that is prepared on request was excellent! We would visit Teisuke San and his family again anytime!

I had a very satisfying stay at an affordable price. It was a long way from downtown Akita, but the surrounding area was rich in nature and had a good environment. It was cleaner and more beautiful than what I saw in the photos. The host, Sato, was also very kind. Thank you very much.
