Holiday houses in Aceh

The Jungle Huts are a wonderful place to escape to. Very comfortable rooms and all the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We also arranged a great jungle trek and other activities through Jason, making for a hassle-free experience. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Some of my favorite moments during my trip to Asia were in the hammock on the porch! Great staff…very helpful. They set up a trek for me which was great. Very basic room but comfortable. It is a little noisy when they play music downstairs but earplugs solved that for me. It is a beautiful village! I would have liked to stay longer.

Clare’s jungle retreat is absolutely stunning—a true hidden gem surrounded by nature. Getting there is part of the adventure: a scenic 10-minute walk from the drop-off point, where you’ll likely have some lovely interactions with locals along the way. Porters are available to assist with luggage for a small fee, which we highly recommend. Upon arrival, you’re warmly welcomed by the effervescent Tia, who provides a fantastic introduction to the accommodation, local community, and available excursions. The on-site café is a highlight, serving delicious meals, with the banana chocolate spring rolls being an absolute must-try! The views from the accommodation are breathtaking, with the added bonus of being away from the busy village center and right on the edge of the jungle. Whether you’re relaxing on your veranda or enjoying a cold Bintang at the café, watching the tubers float down the river is an experience in itself. We loved it so much we tried to extend, but they were booked!

Nina's place is very simple and straight forward. For me and my friend, it was just nice to go home to and sleep and get some rest before we went out on our own. Yoyok is super friendly and funny! They speak English very well! I didn't have any problem communicating with them at all. You'll be able to rent scooters, do your laundry, go and eat at Noni's (Nina's siter's place by the beach, the breakfast there is AWESOME!) The house we stayed in was okay too, location was pretty near to the Riverside place where we managed to rent a kayak and go kayaking (if you're into that sortta thing) and it is quite near to the Lampuuk beach (a.k.a Joel's Place) the beach over there is nice, I saw a lot of people went there to watch the sunset. But please, don't waste your money eating there, come back to Nina's area and have a good meal LOL (based on our experience, the food was ok, but portion was so little for the price we paid). I am so looking forward to future trips to Nina's place again! Thanks again Nina and Yoyok! Please send our regards to Noni too! We miss you all so much!!

This is a lovely self-contained house with three bedrooms and a living area around a central open air courtyard, it was perfect for us as a family of six. It's located in a residential area rather than with all the tourist lodgings along the river (which we really liked), but really easy walking distance to restaurants by the river. Only downside was proximity to a loud mosque for an early wake up! Yoyok was a wonderful, friendly host who helped us with everything. We had a great jungle trek to see orangutans nd tube down the river, and saw elephants at Tangkahan. Activities are quite expensive but I believe this is unavoidable as it's the same price for all visitors. We loved Bukit Lawang, thank you Yoyok!

This is a charming studio apartment on the southwestern outskirts of Banda Aceh, a great home away from home. The place is on the upper floor of a house in the corner of a gated community, fairly private and quiet, with nice views of a small lake and nearby hills. The space is stylish, the main bedroom area well-air conditioned, while the kitchen and dining room are not. The bed is large and comfortable, the bedroom includes a small desk, and the kitchen is large and well-equipped, with huge picture windows. The host is super friendly and available to help in any way you may need. There are minor shops and eateries in the neighborhood, but it would be best to travel a short distance for a much higher calibre.

I stayed with my son for 5 nights at the bungalow. Very nice location and bungalow directly on the sea. A stone's throw away is a restaurant that offers family-friendly breakfasts and dinners. It's so close that it looks like part of the bungalows, but it's a different management. The only thing I have to do at the restaurant, not on the quality of the food or juices that are excellent, but on an unclear experience we had: my son likes to fish, through Borja we found a boat for two days to go fishing paying for what is required. Two very nice days. We were always asked to bring the fish if we caught it. We brought it sharing it with everyone thinking we'd do what's nice, otherwise we would have left it at the boatman. In the end, I found the cleaning and cooking of the fish... I didn't like this because it hadn't been said, in fact we were invited to bring it. Bungalows are still a special place to come back. This was my second stay at seaside. My father was visiting from Alaska. I requested another fan for my father since he was coming from an Alaskan winter to the tropics. The hosts were very accommodating. My father wanted to go fishing. The hosts recommended a local guy that I had used before for snorkeling. He was very friendly and knew great spots for fishing. My dad and I had a wonderful time. The food, as always, was amazing. My dad and I had wonderful evening at seaside watching the sunset and enjoying the stars at night. I highly recommend this place for you and your families visit to Simeulue regardless of what activities you have planned!
