Family-friendly holiday rentals in Ukunda

We loved staying at Familia House! Everyone was very welcoming and nice! The place was also incredible for our family of four! This was our first time in Diani and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay! Beach is less than 10 min walk away. They also have amazing dogs Mikki and Lala!😭❤️❤️ The chef was also amazing!! 10/10 experience, can’t wait to come back again in future!

Great place to stay. Secluded, private and wonderfully located. Kitchen staff superlative. Pool great for all the family. Very roomy.

Vi hadde fantastiske dager på Villa Shaanti, huset er like vakkert som på bildene. Ibrahim, Faradi og Seth som jobber i villaen gjorde alt for at vi skulle ha det bra under vårt opphold. Vi kunne ikke bedt om bedre service. Det har vært en glede å besøke Villa Shaanti og vi kommer gjerne igjen.

Wir sind absolut begeistert von der Unterkunft! Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich, und der Koch hat uns mit außergewöhnlichen Gerichten verwöhnt – jedes Essen war ein echtes Highlight. Dank der herzlichen Betreuung haben wir uns die gesamte Zeit sicher und bestens umsorgt gefühlt. Der private Pool und der direkte Zugang zu einem wunderschönen, ruhigen Strand sind besondere Vorzüge. Die etwas abgelegene Lage sorgt zusätzlich für eine idyllische und unberührte Atmosphäre. Wir können diese Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen und freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch!

African house is beautiful with a well kept large garden and pool. It Is very clean with diffent animal themed bed rooms. located in a central location that makes it easy to access the beach, shops and restaurants. Dog friendly too meaning we took our pet with us. The staff are really friendly and very proactive. The host is very responsive and helpful. I have already recommended it to my family and Friends for their Christmas holidays.

What an amazing view - better than the photos. We were lucky enough to see elephants & a couple of bush babies. Pumzika Tu suited us brilliantly as a family, with lots of rooms giving us the space to spread out. John & his team were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble & we had some excellent meals cooked by chef John. Muppet (the jack russell) was a joy & she kept us safe & sound, as did the day & night guards. We did a trip to the Shimba waterfalls, which was lovely but it is a bit of a trek back up to the top. We also saw buffalo & wart hogs on the short drive there. Overall an excellent stay & we will definitely be returning. Thankyou John & team.

Beautiful and large house, garden, and beach. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, in-house chef made delicious food, the beach was basically private and the owners communicated well with us. The location is fairly remote but even without our own transport, we were able to take a taxi to diani without a problem. The beach itself is fairly shallow so massive swims are not really an option but snorkeling works and it is still very beautiful. Would come here again any day. Thank you team!

Great Place!! We really enjoyed our stay at Shalom. It was just what our family needed. Quiet and serene, close to the beach and other family friendly activities. Our kids enjoyed the pool. Lots of restaurants nearby. Place was clean and caretakers were responsive. We felt right at home.

Lovely place to stay with my family for 5 nights over New Year. Short walk to Beach, great chef Jacob and housekeeper Janet always there to help. Comfortable and clean. Lots of space. Great pool. House and eating area nicely shaded from the heat.

The house is beautifully presented with 4 enormous double bedrooms, two with equally enormous balconies. The pictures do not do the property justice. Mzuri House is part of a well run little complex. Security is ever present and you feel perfectly at ease at all times. The house feels very private and is 20M from the quieter Galu Beach, an extension of Diani beach. Sails and Salty Squid restaurants are excellent and only 100M. However the main attractions at Mzuri House are Liz the housekeeper and Shee the chef. Both were amazing hosts. Liz will communicate with before you arrive. She will arrange everything for you from airport pick-ups to restaurant bookings as well as keep the house spotless. Shee the chef prepares delicious breakfasts and lunch and / or dinner. All meals were extraordinary local dishes that our usually difficult to please 3 kids devoured! We can not recommend Mzuri House enough and in particular Liz and Shee.

Lucia's place was an amazing stay for my friends and I. We had the pleasure of renting out all the villa's on Lucia's property which was ideal for a large group such as ourselves. So please consider this location for both small or large groups as the place can easily accommodate both options. The villas are in a nice location with easy access to a beach which is a few metres away on foot. It was easy to find the location on Google Maps and through the pin shared by Lucia and her team. There are also a couple of restaurants and cafes in the area if you would like to venture out and explore. Lucia has maintained the villas very well, keeping them spotless clean, tidy and well fitted with accessories such as portable fans, day beds, lounge pillows, daybeds, extra towels etc. She has a great team of staff who were courteous, extremely helpful , well mannered and happy. We also noted that Lucia was hands on and in some cases worked alongside her team completing chores. Lucia lives close to the property and occasionally popped in to check on us but still provided us with privacy to enjoy our holiday. She was also kind enough to give us a New Year's gift which was nice touch. Lucia had a team of chefs available as part of the stay and they made us some amazing meals. The breakfast options were tasty and non-monotonous. I also highly recommend having the chefs make you some Seafood as they made us some of the most tasty seafood we've ever had. The place is also very secure. There was a guard available who would reconfirm with us any visitors before letting them in and there is also a lockable garage area if you come with a car. Overall, our stay was great. We had a lot of fun, the place was clean and the staff were always at hand to help us with anything we asked for such as booking massage sessions at the villas, covid testing, taxis etc. I highly recommend the place as you can feel Lucia's personal which makes the place feel like a home away from home.

Ein tolles Haus mit großartigen Gastgebern! Zwei Zimmer, Küche, Bad- mehr noch, als man als Paar braucht. Aber man hat dann auch zwei Schränke und die Bekleidung kann vollständig verstaut werden- großartig ! Das Bett ist sehr groß und bequem, Dusche mit Handbrause, zwei Waschbecken und einiges an Platz- ideale Ferienbedingungen. Nachteil an der Lage: es ist etwas weiter von Ukunda entfernt. Vorteil an der Lage: es ist etwas weiter von Ukunda entfernt ;-) Wir haben den Abstand sehr genossen. (Absolute Empfehlung ist das fussläufig erreichbare Restaurant „Sundowner“ ! Hier gibt es richtig gutes Essen und ordentliche Portionen, tolle Drinks und einen Frankfurter Manager.) Die Atmosphäre ist sehr familiär- Dank an Hans, der immer für uns da war….wir werden definitiv nächstes Jahr wiederkommen!!

After a few bookings in the area fell through due to dishonest listings and poor cleanliness, we were feeling stuck for somewhere to go during our stay (make sure you vet your accommodation in Diani!!). We found Leonards place last min, and he was so responsive and helpful from the get go. We arrived to a lovely, clean villa exactly as described - Rose and the rest of the staff were so friendly and present, making our stay very enjoyable. The AC in the rooms provided immediate respite from the heat of the coast. The kitchen is well stocked and we managed to cook up some great meals. With no AC in the living space, it does get a little stuffy but not a huge issue for us. The villa is actually more like an 8 min walk to the beachfront and Pallet Cafe, and nighttime dips in the shared pool provided some peaceful stargazing. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say booking into Leonard's place rescued our trip! We'd love to book both villas next time for a longer stay with more people.

We had a wonderful 8 day stay at Sean's place. Check in was easy and the place matched the photos exactly. This was our first time in Diani and Sean provided a guide to which was very helpful. His place is located in the middle of Diani and very accessible to the beach, restaurants, shopping and activities. We had plenty of drinking water and housekeeper came every 4 days. With the amenities, location, excellent host and overall value, Sean's place was a great choice. Can't wait to comeback.

We had the most spectacular time in the wantano house. The location is fabulous and the house is very spacious and accommodating .The garden is spectacular and fairy tale. The children were fascinated and enchanted by the garden and loved the pool. We enjoyed having meals outside with the delicious food served by the crew. You wake up to the sound of the sea and each room has a beautiful view of the beach. You walk out from the garden onto the magnificent white sand The hosts were extremely helpful and always available. We felt very secure with the full time security on the premises. We highly recommend this house.

We spend 6 nights at the beautiful garden villa and we had a great time. It was amazing to be so close to nature - and everything that goes with it. We had some incidents where monkeys came in and stole our groceries from the fridge. We solved the problem by putting a chair in front, and then there was no more steeling. We could only laugh at it, and it just made our visit more authentic. But a quick fix could be to put some simple children locks on the fridge. The villa is located a 10 minute walk from Chandarana (grocery store) and it had direct access to the beach, where sun-beds were provided so beach sellers would not disturb you. The staff were amazing and very kind. So a big thank you to Sylvia, Freda, mama Hawa Abdahllah, David, Daniel, Hassan, and everybody else for making us feel welcome, save, and looked after.

Akiki apartments afford exceptional quality and hospitality, all in a prime location. Tom is an excellent host; proactive, friendly and very helpful to assist with your stay on site and with wider recommendations for transport and things to do. His team also made us feel tremendously welcome for the whole stay - we will be coming back!
