City advice

What to pack

Wood for firepit

We recommend bringing wood to burn with you or purchasing the dried wood in packages at the local convenience stores or Martins Grocery Market in Front Royal, Virginia. You are welcome to use any wood that is one the premises but it may be wet or not cut to the size needed for the firepit at Common Ground or solo stove at Summit Lodge.
What to pack

Beach Towels

Each guest will have a bath towel, hand towel and washcloth. However, we recommend bringing beach towels for the hot tub. Please remember to shower before using the hot tubs. Finally, our hot tubs are well maintained but, in the event, a hot tub becomes inoperable, we do not consider refunds - please enjoy the great outdoors and our 64 acres.
What to pack

Bottled Water

All water at the cabin and lodge is potable. However, it is well water and some guests don't care for the taste. You may consider bringing bottled water with you.
What to pack

Coffee

Both the cabin and lodge have coffee pots (Keurig and drip). Please bring your own coffee, creamer, sweetener etc. You may use any filters in the property. However, we recommend brining your standard filters for the drip coffee pots.
Getting around

Path to the River

As you get closer to the cabin and lodge, you will see a gravel parking lot on the right side of the driveway. If you were to stand in the parking lot, you will see a sign posted high up in a tree that indicates where the path begins to get to the river. It is an easy walk that zig zags through the property but be aware that we do have ticks, bugs and wildlife on the property. When you arrive at the access road, you will need to walk across to the steps and walk through the open field to the river.
