Walganbar Cabins offer private, quality-appointed accommodation, with breath-taking views eastward to the head of the Condamine River, Mount Wilson and Mount Superbus. Surrounded by old growth temperate rainforest, natural kikuyu rolling hills, mountain creeks, and the famous Queen Mary and Brown's Falls.
The space
This free‑standing, wheelchair‑accessible cabin has a small verandah where you can enjoy a lovely view of the mountains.
Inside, you’ll find:
A well‑equipped kitchenette with a microwave, air fryer and electric grill for preparing simple meals.
Access to an additional gas BBQ, shared between the three cabins, for outdoor cooking.
A lounge room that includes a fold‑out sofa bed, perfect for accommodating extra guests (linen available for an additional guest fee).
Two separate bedrooms, offering comfortable sleeping options for families or small groups.
A large, wheelchair‑accessible bathroom with plenty of space for ease of movement.
This cabin can comfortably sleep up to 6 guests across the two bedrooms and the fold‑out sofa in the lounge. It’s ideal for individuals, couples, families or small groups seeking a peaceful and accessible retreat with easy access to nature, while also offering the option to host extra guests with the fold‑out bed (with a small linen charge for additional guests).
Walganbar is a large rural property, and during your stay you’re welcome to explore the walking trails and open areas. There are a variety of tracks suitable for different fitness levels – from gentle strolls to more challenging walks – offering beautiful mountain views and the chance to see local flora and fauna.
Please note: as this is a working rural environment with natural terrain, wildlife and uneven surfaces, guests explore the property and use the walking trails at their own risk. By choosing to access these areas, you accept responsibility for your own safety and that of any members of your party (including children). We recommend wearing appropriate footwear, taking care on all tracks, and supervising children at all times.
For your peace of mind, each cabin is equipped with a small first aid kit, including a basic snake‑bite bandage kit. The snake kit comes with a strap so you can easily carry it on your arm while walking the trails, meaning it’s close at hand if needed and you don’t have to make extra room in your bag. These kits are provided for initial first aid only and are not a substitute for medical care – in the event of any bite, injury or medical concern, please seek immediate professional assistance and call emergency services.
These trails provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the scenery at your own pace, whether you’re an avid hiker or simply prefer a leisurely walk.

This Walganbar's King Parrot Cabin is one of three cabins on the property. The other two, Walganbar's Rainbow Lorikeet Cabin and Walganbar's Blue Wren Cabin are also available for booking.
