Pa's Place is a quiet country retreat intentionally designed as a sanctuary for couples and the solo traveller looking to pause, relax and enjoy the stillness of a rural setting.
The house blends old and new, with touches of sophistication and country generosity.
Relax in the outdoor hot tub as you take in the wide open landscape, abundant birdlife and star-filled skies.
Free from TV and wifi, you're invited to switch off and embrace the slower pace.
Maximum guest capacity - 2
The space
Just 30 minutes from Launceston, Pa's Place is part of Summerlea Farm - a boutique beef cattle producing property nestled in the foot hills of Mt Arthur.
The one-bedroom cottage is styled with vintage and up-cycled furniture creating modest country character, finished with thoughtful comforts and small luxuries.
Inside is a balance of comfort and style inviting you to read a book, put on a record, play a board game, or simply enjoy the stillness. Music sets the tone with a Spotify playlist inspired by Doris Day and Ella Fitzgerald.
Step outside to a backdrop of native bushland, open paddocks, and the winding Second River, with Mt Arthur on the horizon.
A hot tub offers the chance to unwind, while wide skies and surrounding bush create a peaceful canvas for your stay
Mist drifts through the valley in the mornings and evenings, while at night the stars are breath taking.
An orchard sits at the front of the house with large, grassy paddocks surrounding. The private back deck becomes a viewing platform for watching the active birdlife and the occasional wallaby or possum.
Mobile coverage is available but otherwise free from digital distractions with no wifi or TV, leaving you to focus on what matters: conversation, rest and connection.
Opened Sept 2025
Guest access
Guests have full and private access to the house, hot tub and garden inside the boundary fence.
There are several private walking tracks to enjoy (by arrangement) exploring the regenerating bushland and river banks.
While we love welcoming couples and solo travellers to our peaceful countryside escape, please note that the property is physically unsuitable and potentially unsafe for children and infants.
Other things to note
There's plenty to explore in the surrounding area - from tasting award winning wines along the Tamar Valley Wine Route to sample local produce that feeds into to Launceston's listing as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
A short drive to the Bridestowe Lavender Farm, Blue Derby mountain bike trails, Clover Hill Vineyard, Barnbougle and Lost Farm golf courses, Hollybank Tree Tops Adventure and many more.
