Wedding Groups

Historic Fairview has a prime location, stunning gardens that visitors from all around the world come to see and amazing interiors that are a perfect backdrop for wedding photos.
We get many requests for wedding groups to stay prior to a wedding and use these spaces for commercial wedding photographs. Due to privacy and exclusivity issues, we are unable to accommodate this for the Light Filled Loft Space.
For wedding groups, we recommend booking the whole house and you will find this on a separate listing under Fairview of Subiaco. This ensures total privacy and exclusivity for the whole property and gardens, and this is the perfect solution for wedding groups.
The same policy applies for commercial photography requests.
We have a strong commitment to sustainability principles and minimising our impact on the environment.
This includes a commitment to reducing waste and adopting recycling as well as embracing solar passive design and minimising the use of energy use, such as air conditioners.
With this in mind we request aircon use be kept to minimal usage. For example, we recommend using the aircon if over 30 degrees and turning it off if going out. Instead, open up all the doors and windows and let Perth's famous seabreezes cool you down naturally! This is the work of "The Freo Doctor" at its best.

Historic House Tours

Guided tours of the main house, Fairview are available on request or as part of The Australian Heritage Festival from April 18 to May 18 and the Perth Art Weekend, a three-day day curated program of exhibitions and events to engage with artists, curators, collectors and art professionals held in August.

The Stallion Box is also part of Open House Perth, an annual event that celebrates the best of architecture, design and the built environment in Perth and its surrounds. It gives visitors unprecedented, behind-the-scenes access to Perth’s best places and spaces.

For guests, I always share high design art in heritage spaces
I'm an international business speaker, author and consultant. I travel a lot so I know the value of a comfortable stay and local knowledge. I've lived in Subiaco for 30 years so I know all the secret spots the locals love. Everything from coffee at Boucla, a drink at Juanita's or a picnic in Kings Park are all just two minutes walk away. I love meeting people and my personal library is very extensive. I love renovating old houses and have a passion for conserving Perth's heritage. I have two properties available - the main house called "Fairview" and an architect designed outhouse conversion known as "The Stallion Box". You can follow both on Instagram @FairviewofSubiaco and @stallionbox. Book these together or separately depending on the size of your group. “I won’t promise you spick and span and sparkly,” says Thomas of the distinctive stay. “What I will promise you is an experience like no other—to recharge and revitalize your soul in an authentic 110-year old historic gentleman's mansion and heritage outhouse conversion!" “Today’s luxury travelers crave places with a personality that embraces their surroundings or tells a story and both "Fairview" and "The Stallion Box" do this with both style and history,” says Thomas. “If your taste in gardens, antiques and art is highly sophisticated, the unique design elements of "Fairview" and "The Stallion Box" will captivate and charm you when it comes to fusing comfort, space, and sense of place with a big dose of character," concludes Thomas.
