Step into Geranium Cottage, the original school principal’s home since 1965.

Full of character, with wainscotted walls, a cosy layout, and enclosed verandah looking over the garden and big gums, perfect for a morning coffee.

Lovingly restored by local volunteers, it offers the comfort of today with a renovated bathroom and updated kitchen, yet still holding its history.

Slow down by the wood fire, in a soft leather armchair, and listen to the birds.

We love this town and hope you will too.

The space
The cottage offers four bedrooms, suited to families or small groups. Two rooms have queen beds, a third has two king singles, and a small sunroom provides an extra single bed, a quiet spot that catches the morning light.

All beds are fitted with electric blankets for comfort in cooler weather.

There’s an updated kitchen with big fridge and all the cooking supplies you will need to prepare meals. Basic cooking supplies - oil, herbs and spices, food wrap, baking paper etc are provided.

The kitchen also has a pod coffee machine and tea and coffee supplies.

The cottage boasts a newly renovated bathroom with toilet, along with a second toilet off the back room for added convenience.

The enclosed verandah looks out over the garden and big gum trees and is a lovely place to sit with a coffee and watch the sun come up.

Inside, the lounge room is set up for comfort, with big leather armchairs and a wood combustion heater to keep things warm and cosy.

The cottage also has ducted evaporative air conditioning.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house. The back yard is enclosed and pets are permitted. Additional cleaning fees apply.

Other things to note
The Geranium Op Shop and Café is open Wednesdays and Thursdays, with the op shop also opening one Saturday each month and well worth a browse if you’re in town.

The nearest dinner option is the Lameroo Hotel, around 35 km from Geranium. If you’d prefer to stay in, guests are welcome to contact the hosts ahead of their visit to discuss catering options during their stay.

My work: Farm work.
Hi I'm Tanja and I live on a farm just out of Geranium. My husband and kids all went to the school at Geranium so it's a special place for our family. We now help out at the Geranium Hub and are looking forward to welcoming you to the Mallee.
