Unwind in the peace and tranquility of Braidwood Retreat, an architectural gem nestled between a stunning natural forest and panoramic valley views. Situated just 20 minutes from the historic town of Braidwood in NSW’s Southern Tablelands, this remarkable residence, featured in Best Contemporary Country Homes, includes a separate studio for added privacy. Enjoy the abundant wildlife and walking trails on the property or simply relax on the deck and soak in the majestic sunset vistas.
The space
The entire house and studio are exclusively available for one booking, ensuring privacy and tranquility for your group. The base price is set for 1-4 guests which includes access to the main house (bedrooms 1 and 2) only. For groups of 5-6, an additional fee will apply, granting access to the separate studio (bedroom 3). Please note that the studio cannot be rented individually or in place of the main house.
This flexible arrangement makes the property ideal for families or groups seeking extra space and privacy during their getaway.
Main House
The main house is the perfect blend of luxury and natural beauty, featuring two bedrooms: one with a king bed and the other with two king-singles, along with a main bathroom. At the heart of this beautiful home is a stunning kitchen with limestone benchtops, seamlessly connecting to a spacious outdoor deck that boasts breathtaking valley views. The open-plan dining and living areas are enhanced by floor-to-ceiling glass windows, allowing guests to immerse themselves in nature while enjoying luxurious comforts.
Studio
Adjacent to the main house is a charming separate studio that mirrors the architectural elegance of the main residence. This studio includes a third bedroom, complete with another plush king bed, alongside its own living area and bathroom.
Amenities
The main house features underfloor heating, reverse-cycle air conditioning, double-glazing and cozy open fireplaces in both the main house and studio. For outdoor gatherings, a fire pit with a BBQ plate allows guests to gather around and connect under the stars.
Location
Set on a sprawling 25-acre bushland retreat, this property is just 20 minutes south of Braidwood—a delightful historic town nestled between Canberra and the NSW South Coast. Braidwood offers a paradise for food lovers, dotted with cafes, artisan bakeries, creperies, and farmers’ markets, as well as an array of unique boutiques, galleries, and museums. Only a short drive away is the Monga National Park featuring beautiful, easily accessible walking tracks. Also nearby is the historic Majors Creek Hotel that offers a cozy and casual atmosphere to complement their traditional pub meals.
Wildlife and Nature
Guests can frequently spot wildlife, including wombats, kangaroos, and echidnas around the house. Enjoy the calming sounds of a natural spring that enhances the tranquil atmosphere.
Braidwood Retreat provides a luxury accommodation experience designed for relaxation and a deep connection with nature.

Other things to note
As much as we love small children and dogs, Braidwood Retreat is not suitable for either. We have a beautiful - but unfenced - natural spring close the house. There is an abundance of native wildlife, including wombats, kangaroos and echidnas, that move freely around the property.
Please note, from October 1st to April 1st no outdoor fires are permitted, following bushfire safety guidelines. We thank you for cooperation.

When my husband Paul and I first saw this property, we were excited to find the rare combination of both 'luxe' and 'natural' living. The architecturally designed house has been built to optimise and enhance the sublime experience of the breathtaking natural landscape without foregoing any of the luxuries of modern living. It perfectly combines the best of both worlds.
