Comfy bed for better sleep

The black-out blinds and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Unwind in this delightful, inclusive & accessible studio on a hobby farm in the Barossa Valley, close to the Adelaide Hills, historic Gawler, 40min from the beach. Drawing on Barossa heritage, it showcases reclaimed corrugated iron walls & roof. Warm yet roomy & comfy: queen bed, kitchenette, aircon+ceiling fan. Breakfast supplies. Wheelchair ramp, wide doors. Views of vineyard, nature, garden. Picnic spot, bush trails, wineries nearby. LGBTQ+ welcoming. Perfect for romance or a quiet break.

The space
The accommodation is suitable for up to 2 adult people only. Inclusive of LGBTQ+ guests. Parent(s) with infants before crawling/walking stage are welcome. Not suitable for children who are of crawling/walking age as the property is not child-proof.

Designed with accessibility, inclusivity, and comfort in mind. In the kitchen: a kettle & toaster, a microwave, an induction hob, a mini-oven, a mini-fridge, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and some breakfast and cooking provisions (Bread, Butter, Eggs, Olives, Cereal, Crackers, Snack bars, Honey, Jam, Milk, Coffee, Tea, Sugar, cooking condiments (Oil, Vinegar, Salt, Pepper, spices). There is a generous open living area, a comfortable queen-size bed, and a spacious bathroom. A wheelchair ramp, extra-wide doors, sufficient circulation space and other accessibility features makes our place comfortable and safe for all guests. After a restful night, take a walk around the property or relax indoors enjoying the views from the floor-to-ceiling windows, read a book in the cosy reading corner, listen to music or see a movie from the varied collection we've provided. You will love sitting on the deck in the evenings or under the old Moreton Bay Fig (during summer the tree drops its fruit, including on the roof - which produces knocking sound, please consider if you're a light sleeper). Guests with an electric car can power it from the power point near the parking spot (if they have the appropriate connector for a "normal" power point), at extra $20 per stay to be paid at host's request.

Guest access
Access is for paying guests exclusively. While it's ok for guests to have friends visiting during the day, please do let us know beforehand as this is a private property. Paying guests are welcome to go for walks around the property, up the hill and around the vineyard. Please keep within clearly defined paths. Please wear comfortable fully enclosed shoes. We maintain the bush areas regularly, but like with any bushwalk - be mindful of tripping hazards like fallen branches. There is a nice nature path that leads to Williamstown, it's at our back fence up the hill, accessible via two gates from our property (ask us for directions if you can't find the gates).

Other things to note
The accommodation is suitable for up to 2 adults. Parent(s) with infants (before crawling/walking stage) are welcome. Not suitable for children who are of crawling/walking age, for safety reasons.

The corrugated iron walls and roof are fully insullated, still the sound of heavy rain will be audible - please consider this if you're a light sleeper.

Three beehives are on the property - the bees are hard at work, not interested in humans and unlikely to cause any annoyance - "bee" aware of their presence, observe their fascinating dances around the plants, while respecting their guarded territory - the beehives.

Being a rural property, you may notice insects around - ants, millipedes, earwigs, flies etc. There are screens on the windows that open but not on the doors - for accessibility reasons. We've provided insect spray for you.

We're on a tourist route - please take care entering and exiting the property as the entrance is on a bend with low visibility.

Please note: No parties allowed at any time. No extra guests overnight.

NO-RESPONSIBILITY DISCLAIMER

By confirming your booking you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with being on a hobby farm, rural area and bushland and the potential for injury from uneven terrain, slopping ground, steps, falling branches, wildlife and other tripping hazards. The property is fully fenced and gated (rural fencing, NOT a pet-secure fencing). Guests coming with a pet will take full responsibility for the safety of their pet, by ensuring the gate is closed at all times and their pet is under constant supervision and effective control.

Neighbourhood highlights

We are located in Southern Barossa - offering the best of both the Adelaide Hills and the world-famous Barossa Valley. So much to explore: the wineries, restaurants and cafés, bushwalking and birdwatching in nearby nature reserves, kayaking and fishing at the local water reservoirs, historic sites and cultural events, a swimming pool in Williamstown, farmers markets and so much more ... A pleasant walking trail is just at our northern border - a 20min walk to Williamstown's cafes and shops, in the shade of old gum trees, and you could meet the neighbour's 2 curious alpacas that keep the grass down along the walking path :-) We have prepared a guidebook and will be happy to suggest some local attractions.
