The space
Barbie May's exudes warmth, charm, and country elegance, making it the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. Thoughtfully curated with rich wooden furniture, cosy seating, beautiful flowers, and natural textures and fabrics, it instantly invites you to slow down and unwind.
The welcoming atmosphere is set with soft natural lighting, rustic décor and plenty of comfy seating areas. Every corner has a homely feel, while the stack of entertaining and lifestyle books and games invites you to share good food, good company, and create great moments together. Whether you choose to curl up with a book, share a grazing platter on the back deck or simply enjoy the serene surroundings from our swing, this space promises comfort and character a perfect home away from home.
With the fourth bedroom with the two singles, on request prior to arrival we can turn this into a king sized bed.
2026 has brought the addition of a luxurious outdoor bath to soak the stressors away and unwind in the warmth of water.
Designed with couples or groups in mind, this home is fully accessible and ready to accommodate any specific needs you may have.
Everything is curated to ensure your stay is as cosy and carefree as possible. Luxurious bedding and soft towels are all provided, so you can just relax and unwind. The fully equipped kitchen includes a coffee plunger, microwave, cooktop, sandwich toaster, oven, fridge, and all the essentials, while modern comforts like a split system air conditioner, ceiling fans, and a charming fireplace keep you comfortable year-round. Plus, a secure garage ensures your peace of mind.
For moments of fun and connection, you’ll find a delightful selection of books and games to enjoy indoors or outdoors.
We are just steps away from Inverleigh’s iconic pub, picturesque river walks with giant River Red Gums, biking trails, and cosy eateries. Barbie May’s is perfect for exploring the region, including the Moorabool Valley wine district and Geelong. It’s also a great stop on the way to the Great Ocean Road or Western District, making it ideally placed for your next getaway.
Outside our huge backyard hosts a fire pit (subject to seasonal fire restrictions) ready to enjoy nights under the stars, toasting marshmallows and creating magical memories .
And for your convenience, Coles and Woolworths offer grocery delivery with advance notice, so you can spend more time enjoying your stay and less time worrying about the details. At Barbie May’s, every little thing has been taken care of so you can truly rest and relax.
Guest access
At Barbie May’s, everything is curated to ensure your stay is as cosy and carefree as possible.
Access is by self check in through a front door. This includes 3 steps. Guests can then head inside and through a door in the kitchen to the roller door button on the wall. You can access the kitchen from the garage once you bring your vehicle inside.
Or leave it in the drive way.
This access, through the garage is ideal for people with mobility equipment or unable to tackle the steps.
You have access to the back room, bathroom and laundry.
We ask that when leaving you lock everything up and return the key to the lock box. Please, please scrabble the code once you have closed it.
Other things to note
We’ll send you all the check-in details a few days before your arrival, ensuring everything is smooth and easy for your stay.
We will ask you two questions:
1. What milk do you prefer and
2. What bedding configurations are needed.
For those staying a week or longer, an additional cleaning fee of $170 will apply.
While we adore pets, we've had to make the tough decision not to allow them due to past damages. We hope you understand. If we find evidence of pets you will be charged a further $700 to deep clean our home.
Our home relies on a septic tank, so we kindly ask that all hygiene products, along with items like 'flushable wipes,' be placed in the provided bin to keep the system running smoothly. No one likes a brown mess.
We are a smoke free home. Smoking is only permitted at the fire pit. If we find evidence on the deck or inside our home sadly we will have to charge you a further $700 to deep clean our home.
During special periods like Easter (Friday to Sunday), Melbourne Cup, Labour Day long weekends we have a two-night minimum stay and other peak days have higher rates. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you.
