When you book Old Coach Retreat, you have the property to yourselves. You will have access to the house, outdoor areas, and garage breakout room and 11 acres of pasture and remnant forest. There are 3 bedrooms, two living areas and extensive outdoor landscaped areas accommodating 6 guests.

Old Coach Retreat has been lovingly curated with natural materials to reflect the surrounds, with rustic highlights and modern conveniences.

It is equally inviting for romantic escapes and special occasions, or laid-back shared moments with friends. With great attention to detail, we have curated a space that is beautiful, comfortable and includes everything you might need for a relaxed, yet indulgent stay.

The house is artfully arranged in two pavilions annexed by the entry. Relaxed design, layered textures with all modern conveniences provide a relaxed, light-filled environment to wind down. The bedroom pavilion includes 3 bedrooms all reverse cycle air-con: master with queen bed and ensuite, second bedroom with queen bed and third bedroom with 2 extra-long singles (which can be converted to a king size bed on request); separate family bathroom; and rumpus room (smart TV, DVD player, jigsaw puzzles and board games). All bedrooms include pillow top beds luxurious goose down quilts and pillows, built-in wardrobes and luxurious linen bedding. Bathrooms have double basins, rain showers and hair dryers.

Enjoy views of the valley from the open plan living, dining and kitchen pavilion equipped with everything you might need for early morning coffee fix to late night cocktails by the fire. Floor-to-ceiling windows with sheer linen curtains let the light stream into the kitchen and living area and offer stunning glimpses outside.

In summer, open the doors and let the sea breeze wash through the house. Stream music whilst you prepare a grazing platter at the island bench before retiring to the cosy couch. Grab a Turkish towel and head down to the beach or put the hammock up between the trees and soak in the sun. In winter the fire awaits; sleep-ins, a good book or card games.

The outdoor areas beckon you to bask in the sun - an undercover deck to the north, and bluestone paving to the west. Outside, the steel fire pit invites you to toast marshmallows and view the incredible night sky; there’s an outdoor clawfoot bath with beautiful bath salts to soak, and a copper rain-shower to wash off the sand at the end of a day by the seaside. Twilight drinks or morning coffee are best enjoyed on the deck, where the kangaroos pass by at dusk and dawn on their way from the hills to the valley pastures to graze.

There is plenty of parking in the visitors parking area. The fabulous garage is a cool breakout area with timber trusses and rope pendants and a ping pong table for the kids (or kids-at-heart). You are welcome to store your beach toys (surfboards, fishing tackle, bikes) in the garage but not your vehicles. Please, park them in the visitors parking area.

Included:
- All towels (including Turkish towels for the beach), bedding and tea towels.
- Full kitchen with Bosch appliances (oven, dishwasher, induction cooktop), coffee machine (Aldi pods) and percolator, microwave, Aarke sparkling water maker and plenty of chopping boards, platters and glassware. You won’t feel like you are on a camping trip with everything you need to entertain and feel at home (including Braun stick mixer, jaffle maker, digital scales). We even have sourdough starter in the freezer, and flour and salt. If you are game you can follow the recipe and make your own bread (it does take 24hours though)!
- kitchen essentials including teas, coffee, oil, basics such as salt, pepper, flour, sugar etc, as well as cleaning products, garbage bags and food wraps. Also included is fly spray and insect repellent. We do have fly screens on all the windows and doors (except the front door) but be mindful that mosquitoes can be plentiful at dusk.
- By prior arrangement we can organise a welcome hamper with breakfast provisions from local suppliers.
- heating/cooling in living area and bedrooms

Although close to the town, this property is set in nature on 11 acres. We have kangaroos regularly hopping by, and a vast aray of birds for your birdwatching and is what makes our retreat so special. We share our environment with a vibrant ecosystem - insects, snakes and other wildlife might also be visible during your stay. Something to be aware of - if you prefer an urban environment.this might not be the stay for you.

Hosting Families
Things you might like to know if traveling with children..

Old Coach Retreat features high-quality furnishings and delicate finishes that require a bit of extra care. We’re more than happy to welcome well-supervised children, and many families have enjoyed our home as a relaxing getaway.

Of course, children will be children, and while we completely understand that, we do ask that guests are mindful to avoid any accidental damage or need for extra cleaning, as this would incur additional charges.

Also, our property is set on 11 acres of pastures and forest. Kangaroos pass by the house to graze morning and night - recently, as it’s so dry they tend to come closer to the house where it is greener. They are beautiful to watch, but worth a mention in case children are wary of animals. They are wild animals and should not be fed or approached. There is also a creek on our property (which is usually dry, but sometimes has flow after heavy rain).
