The space
Stay together, but never feel crowded.
The farmhouse and three cabins give everyone their own space, while the cellar door becomes the natural place to gather. Share a meal, open a bottle, explore the vineyard, or find a quiet corner to enjoy the view.
Blame Mabel is a working vineyard with gardens, vines and 30 acres to roam. A place where mornings start slowly and evenings are made for good company.
YOUR STAY
Sleep up to 12 guests across a three-bedroom farmhouse and three private cabins, with the cellar door providing a shared space to cook, relax and spend time together.
Each of the six bedrooms features a queen-sized bed.
THE FARMHOUSE
The farmhouse is the main home base, a comfortable country house with spaces made for slow mornings, shared meals and evenings by the fire.
Think vintage French linens, soft natural light, wool blankets, feather-filled cushions and a wood fire crackling away as you settle in after a day exploring the vineyard (or doing very little at all).
Three spacious bedrooms, block-out blinds and cosy bedding make for restful nights, while the lounge and daybed are made for afternoon naps, good books and quiet moments.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals together, because sometimes cooking is part of the experience. It’s also stocked with an honesty bar for those moments when a drink feels like the right idea.
The bathroom features a copper shower and an indoor Swedish iron bath.
A wood heater, reverse-cycle air conditioning and ceiling fans keep things comfortable year-round.
THE CABINS
Three private cabins provide the perfect space for couples, friends or family members wanting their own little retreat.
Each cabin has been thoughtfully created with French linens, beautiful light, cosy bathrooms and the little details that make slowing down easy.
Cabin 1
The largest of the three, this sweet cabin is fully self-contained and has a charm all of its own.
Inside you’ll find a spacious bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, antique farmhouse dining table and lounge area made for unwinding.
The bathroom features a copper shower and vintage cast-iron bath, perfect for a long soak after a day among the vines.
Add a crackling wood fire, soft lighting and a quiet evening, and you may find you don’t want to leave.
Cabins 2 & 3
These cosy cabins are all about simplicity, comfort and charm.
Each includes a spacious bedroom, bathroom with copper shower and vintage cast-iron bath, with everything you need for a peaceful stay.
They share an adjoining solid brick wall.
THE CELLAR DOOR
A short stroll through the vines leads to the cellar door, the heart of the property and a place made for gathering.
Inside you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, guest lounge and plenty of space to settle in. Outside, there’s a large garden area, fairy lights and a BBQ ready for long afternoons and relaxed evenings.
The honesty bar is stocked with Blame Mabel wine, G&T ingredients and essentials including ground coffee beans, teas, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and muesli.
Depending on the season, you may also find homemade or homegrown treats waiting for you.
Take your time, fill your thermos, grab a picnic basket and explore the vineyard, or don’t. Sometimes the best days are the ones with nowhere to be.
On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the cellar door opens to visitors. Guests are welcome to enjoy the atmosphere, have a chat and share a glass of wine, while your accommodation and the cellar door kitchen space remain exclusively yours. The kitchen area is never accessible to the public.

Guest access
Blame Mabel is set on 30 acres of varying landscape, a blend of a working vineyard, pines and native flora. The space is shared by workers.
Feel free to explore the property, there are great spots for picnics, sunsets and for watching the wedge tail eagles soar above.
We are perched on the side of a dormant volcano and our soil is rich and likes to stick to shoes, definitely not a spot for heels.
Respectfully take heed of instructions in our guest manual to avoid the potential spread of grapevine diseases.
Please note that entry to the cabins and farmhouse is via a couple of stairs.
The cellar door is open to the public on select days. You’re welcome to join in and continue to enjoy the space.
Other things to note
Anakie is a small rural town supported by a general store that is open 7 days a week. The store provides basic grocery items. The closest supermarkets are 25 minutes away.
We stock a basic pantry which includes: ground coffee beans, black and herbal teas, salt, pepper, muesli, balsamic vinegar & olive oil. Homemade/grown treats are provided based on what the season offers.
We provide a nourishing breakfast of build your own muesli with yoghurt and seasonal fruits.
We happily welcome families in the farmhouse, however the cabins are saved for adults only.
To ensure you have a pleasurable stay, please bring any necessary equipment and entertainment for your little ones as we don’t provide infant or child-specific facilities (including Wi-Fi). Please note that extra supervision may be needed due to our delicate furnishings, building design and fittings.
The maximum number of six guests in the farmhouse includes infants and children.
Sadly we cannot accept dogs or cats for allergy reasons, we do not have perimeter fencing and out of respect to the native animals.
We offer an honesty bar with four local wine varieties and G&T.
At times during the day, the area can be abuzz with farming vehicles and classic cars. Other vehicles may be active during the day however quieten at night.
A heads up for those on networks other than Telstra, reception can be poor. To allow you to fully immerse yourself in the stay, we do not offer wifi.
We do not accommodate bucks or hens nights or other groups looking to 'party'. We like and respect our neighbours choice to reside in a peaceful country setting and will happily assist with recommending more appropriate options.
We are gently restoring the grounds and vines after not being touched for several years. Please anticipate a perfectly imperfect vineyard.
Our cellar door (communal space) is open for limited hours to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. Sip and then wander back to your room - no car needed!
We are proudly an inclusive stay and all guests of any background are welcome here into a safe space.

BUSHFIRE INFORMATION
Anakie is surrounded by national parks. We ask that every guest download the ‘Vic emergency’ app when staying during our warmer periods. This will alert you if any emergency situations are affecting Anakie and give advice on when and how to act.
During our summer period If CATASTROPHIC fire danger days are predicted, bookings will be cancelled for guests' safety, and full refunds will be issued for these days. We will give as much prior notice as possible.
We will always attempt to contact guests if we are made aware of emergency situations, but it is our guest's responsibility to be self-informed via the Victorian Government safety alerts as communication with our guests may be restricted.
Our main priority is to ensure our guests safety.
