The space
Welcome to our unique retreat. The accommodation is spread across four charming buildings, each offering its own cozy space, yet all centered around a warm and inviting separate communal hub, the heart of your stay.

ACCOMMODATION FOR 12
Featuring three private cabins perfect for couples, a three bedroom farmhouse and a separate communal space. Each of the six bedrooms have a queen sized bed.

THE FARMHOUSE
Imagine this: vintage French linens, soft natural light spilling through every window, and a wood fire crackling away as you sink into the comfort of a space that feels like home (but better).

Three spacious bedrooms, each adorned with wool blankets and block out blinds to ensure a restful nights sleep. The lounge area beckons with feather filled cushions, perfect for sinking into after a day of exploration or perhaps very little. A cozy daybed offers an inviting nook for a cheeky afternoon nap or stargazing through the windows. In the kitchen you'll find everything you need to channel your inner chef. Take your time preparing meals just to enjoy the process. It's stocked with everything you need (including a killer honesty bar).

The bathroom is a retreat, featuring a copper shower and an indoor swedish iron bath.

The wall wood heater and reverse cycle keeps things warm in winter while the reverse-cycle air conditioner and ceiling fans keeps you cool in summer.

THE CABINS

Cabin 1
This cozy, sweet cabin oozes charm in every corner. The largest of three, it’s fully self-contained and thoughtfully curated to feel like home.

Sink into French linens, soft natural light pouring in by day, and the perfect curated mood lighting by night. Add the sound of a crackling wood fire, and you’ll never want to leave.

The space features a spacious bedroom, a large bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, an antique farmhouse dining table, and a lounge area made for winding down.

The bathroom is a true retreat, complete with a copper shower and a vintage cast-iron bath that holds warmth like no other, the perfect companion for a long soak with a good book.

Cabin 2 and 3
These cozy, sweet cabins are all about charm and simplicity. Inside you'll find a spacious bedroom designed for restful nights and a bathroom that feels more like a retreat.

And yep, there French linens here too and beautiful light pouring in by day, and the perfect curated mood lighting by night.

The bathrooms are complete with a copper shower and a vintage cast-iron bath that holds warmth like no other, the perfect companion for a long soak with a good book.

The wall radiator heater keeps things warm in winter while the reverse-cycle air conditioner keeps you cool in summer.

This sweet cabin shares an adjoining solid brick wall with another sweet cabin.

COMMUNAL SPACE aka Cellar Door

A short stroll through the vines leads you to the communal space, where you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy guest lounge, and a large outdoor area surrounded by gardens, fairy lights, and a BBQ.

The honesty bar is stocked with wine and G&T, and you’ll find essentials like ground coffee beans, teas, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and muesli. Homemade or homegrown treats are available depending on the season.

Take your time, fill your thermos, and grab a picnic basket. Whether you’re exploring the vineyards or simply soaking in the beauty of your surroundings, this is the place to slow down and enjoy every moment.

Please note, the space is available for booked guests only (unless we’ve chatted and agreed) and on select days this area also serves as our on-site cellar door, where we welcome the public. As our staying guests, you're always our VIPs. Feel free to join in, hang out, have a chat, or simply soak up the atmosphere with a glass in hand and board game in sight. The kitchen area remains private and is not accessible to the public at any time.

CELLAR DOOR PERKS FOR OUR GUESTS

Our cellar door is open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Sip, savour, and then stroll back to the house, no car needed!

LOVE IS GRAND

If a mini wedding or elopement is on the radar, we might be your spot. Think golden fields, dreamy photo ops, twinkly lights, and DIY country charm. Say “I do,” dance under the stars, and stay the night.

Guest access
Blame Mabel is set on 30 acres of varying landscape, a blend of a working vineyard, pines and native flora. The space is shared by workers.

Feel free to explore the property, there are great spots for picnics, sunsets and for watching the wedge tail eagles soar above.

We are perched on the side of a dormant volcano and our soil is rich and likes to stick to shoes, definitely not a spot for heels.

Respectfully take heed of instructions in our guest manual to avoid the potential spread of grapevine diseases.

Please note that entry to the cabins and farmhouse is via a couple of stairs.

The cellar door is open to the public on select days. You’re welcome to join in and continue to enjoy the space.

Other things to note
Anakie is a small rural town supported by a general store that is open 7 days a week. The store provides basic grocery items. The closest supermarkets are 25 minutes away.

We stock a basic pantry which includes: ground coffee beans, black and herbal teas, salt, pepper, muesli, balsamic vinegar & olive oil. Homemade/grown treats are provided based on what the season offers.

We provide a nourishing breakfast of build your own muesli with yoghurt and seasonal fruits.

We happily welcome families in the farmhouse, however the cabins are saved for adults only.

To ensure you have a pleasurable stay, please bring any necessary equipment and entertainment for your little ones as we don’t provide infant or child-specific facilities (including Wi-Fi). Please note that extra supervision may be needed due to our delicate furnishings, building design and fittings.

The maximum number of six guests in the farmhouse includes infants and children.

Sadly we cannot accept dogs or cats for allergy reasons, we do not have perimeter fencing and out of respect to the native animals.

We offer an honesty bar with four local wine varieties and G&T.

At times during the day, the area can be abuzz with farming vehicles and classic cars. Other vehicles may be active during the day however quieten at night.

A heads up for those on networks other than Telstra, reception can be poor. To allow you to fully immerse yourself in the stay, we do not offer wifi.

We do not accommodate bucks or hens nights or other groups looking to 'party'. We like and respect our neighbours choice to reside in a peaceful country setting and will happily assist with recommending more appropriate options.

We are gently restoring the grounds and vines after not being touched for several years. Please anticipate a perfectly imperfect vineyard.

Our cellar door (communal space) is open for limited hours to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. Sip and then wander back to your room - no car needed!

We are proudly an inclusive stay and all guests of any background are welcome here into a safe space.

BUSHFIRE INFORMATION

Anakie is surrounded by national parks. We ask that every guest download the ‘Vic emergency’ app when staying during our warmer periods. This will alert you if any emergency situations are affecting Anakie and give advice on when and how to act.

During our summer period If CATASTROPHIC fire danger days are predicted, bookings will be cancelled for guests' safety, and full refunds will be issued for these days. We will give as much prior notice as possible.

We will always attempt to contact guests if we are made aware of emergency situations, but it is our guest's responsibility to be self-informed via the Victorian Government safety alerts as communication with our guests may be restricted.

Our main priority is to ensure our guests safety.

Anakie is a rural village set in a valley on the edge of national parks.

Ideally situated with a range of local activities for all ages and interests…..literally!

Be sure to plan a meander around the Moorabool Valley wine region, starting with Del Rios for some tapas just down the road.

Oh and did we mention our geographical location….. we are an easy one hour drive from Melbourne, a little less from Ballarat and Daylesford and just 30 minutes from Geelong.
