Perched on natural stumps and tucked beneath the treetops, the Seahorse Studio is a private, lower-level suite contained within Del Sol Treehouse. Surrounded by garden and dappled light, it’s a charming couple's hideaway just 10 minutes from Hobart.

With a private entrance, ensuite bathroom and modest breakfast bar, it offers a cosy retreat. Relax in the plush king bed, soak in the bathtub, brew a coffee and enjoy a charming and uniquely Tassie stay only a short drive or ferry from the city.

The space
Surrounded by native garden paths and dappled afternoon light, the Seahorse Studio is a private lower-level sanctuary within Del Sol Treehouse. Only a short drive from Hobart, it’s a charming hideaway for curious travellers.

This unique and character-filled studio features:

- A lush king bed draped in luxe linen for a restful night’s sleep
- An indulgent bathtub to soak away the day
- A quaint dining table for intimate wine and cheese evenings
- A reading nook for quiet moments with a good book
- A breakfast bar to start your day with ease.

The breakfast bar is equipped with a French press, kettle, toaster, teas, coffee and hot chocolate (and marshmallows of course!), and all the crockery you’ll need for simple breakfasts or snacks.

To keep you warm through the winter months, the studio is equipped with a reverse cycle air conditioner, a hot water bottle, and extra blankets for added comfort.

Venture outdoors and you will find a shared garden threaded with pathways, easement stairs connecting you down to the street towards the ferry terminal, or up towards a track that leads to Rosny Reserve, the perfect spot for a gentle bushwalk and breathtaking views across Hobart and kunanyi/Mt Wellington.

The breakfast bar does NOT include a microwave, stove, oven or kitchen sink (only the bathroom sink is available). Please see the gallery for more details.

The bathroom has a combination bathtub/shower with a handheld showerhead only.

The upper-level suite is The Canopy of Del Sol Treehouse and is listed separately, or you can book both levels together if you need more space. Each level has its own entrance and unique lockbox code. At times, other guests may be staying on the other level during your stay and signs of life may be noticed.

Seahorse Studio is the private lower level of Del Sol Treehouse. The upstairs suite, The Canopy, and its balcony and hammock are NOT included in this listing.

Guests are welcome to wander the shared garden paths and use the easement stairs for a scenic stroll to the ferry.

Each level has its own private entrance and unique key code, and we avoid booking both suites at the same time to ensure your privacy throughout your stay.

This is a unique and quirky place to stay. Please note that there are curved and uneven stairs throughout the property, and it may not be suitable for all guests.

Rosny is a charming Hobart suburb that balances natural beauty with modern convenience. Just a short 10 minute drive from the city centre, it offers sweeping views of the Derwent River framed by Tasmania’s quintessential landscape.

Wander through the peaceful Rosny Reserve, where lookouts reveal panoramic views of the Tasman Bridge, kunanyi/Mt Wellington, and the Hobart skyline. Scenic walking trails and the beaches of nearby Bellerive provide the perfect way to soak up the outdoors, while shopping, cafés, and dining options, including Eastlands Shopping Centre, are 15 minute walk away.

Rosny also connects easily to Hobart’s highlights. Guests can walk 20 minutes to the *Derwent ferry terminal, which links directly with the MONA ferry and the city’s waterfront, including Salamanca Market. Metro bus stops are also nearby, making it simple to explore both the city and the harbour.

*Derwent Ferry operates on weekdays and Saturdays only, with a limited timetable that varies seasonally. Check their website for the latest schedule.
