Comfy bed for better sleep

The black-out blinds and extra bedding are loved by guests.
The Canopy is the sun-drenched upper level of Del Sol Treehouse, perched high among the trees with sweeping views across Hobart's harbour. Upon arrival, it does something to you. The soft light, the moody sky, the shimmering harbour, the calming quiet. Unpacking can wait. Brew something warm, sink into the daybed and let the hours pass unnoticed. This uniquely Tasmanian experience is only 10 minutes from Hobart, making it a perfect base for exploring, or simply settle in and don't leave at all.

The space
The Canopy is the upper level of Del Sol Treehouse, the whimsically imagined home of an elusive botanist from a bygone era.

Step inside, and the world outside seems to recede. The home holds natural curiosities and quiet discoveries. The timber creaks with familiarity. This is a space that has been loved into existence over time, and it shows in every curated and chosen detail.

Elevated high on natural timber poles and wrapped in dappled light, the Canopy embodies a bespoke kind of Tasmanian design: unhurried, textural and deeply connected to place. Cocooning timber walls, unique items, and a collector's eye give the space a feeling that is both nostalgic and entirely its own.

For guests travelling from afar, this is the kind of stay that can only exist here, shaped by the weather, the landscape and the quiet character of the island.

Inside, a plush queen bed dressed in luxe linen invites slow, unhurried mornings. The full kitchen, with its charming checkerboard tiles, is made for long shared meals that stretch from lunch into the evening. The generous daybed is where books are finished and hours slip by. In the bathroom, a rainhead shower, heated towel rails and underfloor tiles warm beneath your feet on brisk Tasmanian mornings, the kind of small luxuries that make a chilly morning feel like a pleasure rather than a hardship.

When the weather calls for it, step out onto the wraparound balcony, where a hammock sways between the timber trunks. Settle in at the high bar with a glass of wine and watch the harbour change colour as the sun drops behind the hills. On clear nights, pull a blanket onto the daybed and stargaze under the vast southern sky.

There is no television or microwave at Del Sol. This is a deliberate choice, made in the spirit of the place: to invite a slower, deeper kind of stay. In their place, you will find a Bluetooth speaker, a curated shelf of books and a selection of games for gentle evenings.

To keep you comfortable through the cooler months, The Canopy has a reverse-cycle air conditioner in the living area, an oil heater in the bedroom, hot water bottles and extra blankets on the beds in the cooler months.
