The space
The Canopy is the upper-level suite contained within Del Sol Treehouse. Nestled in a serene, secluded setting, it feels a world away despite being just a 10-minute drive from central Hobart or a 20-minute stroll to the ferry terminal, easily connecting you to attractions such as MONA, Salamanca Markets and Mt Wellington/kunanyi.

Step into the secret surrounds of natural beauty and lush gardens. Set on a foundation of stunning natural timber poles, Del Sol Treehouse capitalises on its elevated position amongst the trees with expansive views over the Derwent River and the Bellerive Marina.

The Canopy perfectly balances being a bespoke, peaceful retreat with city convenience. Inside, you’ll discover a queen bed draped in luxe linen, a beautiful bathroom with a rain showerhead, a cosy daybed for lounging and a well-equipped kitchen.

This masterfully built treehouse blends rustic wooden charm with thoughtful design. Luxe touches (hello, heated tiles!), vintage treasures, and handcrafted details spark curiosity, invite wonder and echo the story of the elusive naturalist botanist rumoured to have once lived here.

Step out onto the wraparound verandah, complete with a hammock, high bar, and outdoor seating, perfect for long, slow mornings, golden afternoons or starlit evenings.

More than just a place to stay, The Canopy is a haven for reconnection and reflection. Slow down, tune in and rediscover the joy of life’s simple pleasures:

– Brew a herbal tea or hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course!) and watch the yachts sway with the tide.
– Snuggle beneath a blanket on the daybed and watch the cityscape unfold across the water as the sun rises in pink and gold.

Please note: There’s no TV or microwave, a conscious choice to invite deeper rest, conversation and connection. You’ll find all you need to make a meal, a speaker for the perfect playlist (we recommend ours on Spotify!), and plenty of books and games to enjoy.

To keep you comfy during the wild Tasmanian winters, there is a reverse-cycle air conditioner in the living area. Hot water bottles are available, and an oil heater in the bedroom, as well as extra blankets on the bed for the colder months.

Guests have full access to The Canopy, the private, top-floor suite of Del Sol Treehouse. This includes the entry garden, verandah, outdoor seating and hammock.

A second listing, the Seahorse Studio, sits directly beneath and is not included in this booking. To book both levels together, please see our other listing for the whole property or visit our website.

Guests are welcome to wander the garden paths and use the easement stairs for a scenic stroll to the ferry or up to Rosny Reserve bushwalking track.

Each level has its own private entrance and unique key code, and we avoid booking both suites at the same time to ensure your privacy throughout your stay.

Del Sol Treehouse is a handcrafted and character-filled home designed to offer a slower, more intentional kind of stay. Please be aware that access to The Canopy involves curved and uneven stairs, which may not be suitable for all guests.

There is no TV or microwave, a conscious choice to invite deeper rest, conversation and connection. You’ll find a full kitchen for meals, a Bluetooth speaker for ambience, books to browse at your leisure and games for entertainment.
