Cuttaway Cottage in Woodlands a beautiful escape, set on a tranquil rural property in the heart of The Highlands. Only a few minutes drive to Berrima and Bowral - voted Australia's BEST country town.
The Cottage is stylish & spacious - fabulous for families, groups of friends or those attending weddings. A great base to explore - visit local vineyards like Bendooley Estate, attend concerts at Centennial Vineyard, listen to live music at Artemis Wines or simply relax in the garden by the pool.
The space
Beautifully appointed, the cottage features three bedrooms all with new king beds, the master has an en-suite and walk-in wardrobe + a/c. The primary bathroom includes a generous shower and a bathtub. The large, open lounge room has a 65 inch Samsung Smart TV – the perfect spot to put your feet up, watch a movie, read a book, play a game of chess or a board game.
The large central dining area has a 6 person antique dining table and is connected to a spacious and well-equipped kitchen with an indoor cast iron free-standing wood burning fireplace.
The kitchen overlooks the private garden, patio and pool. The outside gardens offers privacy with a large hedge and the perfect space for alfresco dining, to enjoy a morning coffee in the sun or afternoon sundowners or simply to relax.
In addition to these spaces, there is also a separate private study enabling those who need to ‘work from home’ whilst away, a quiet space. Alternatively, this room can also be used as a separate baby room (port-a-cot supplied) or a children's playroom. There is also a large separate laundry room with washing machine, dryer and detergents supplied.
The Cottage is roughly 150m from the main house but private with it’s own driveway entry.
Our three friendly donkeys – Bella, Fancy and Rosie and our new paddock ponies - Possum and Princess will be your neighbours for your stay - they are very social and love a chat, to snack on carrots and a brush. Note this is a working farm and on occasion we may cross paths when feeding/caring for our animals or when my girls are riding their horses.
The space
Located in a quiet, rural part of the highlands a few minutes drive to Berrima and Bowal. The property is private, with established well maintained gardens and on-site parking.
The property sleeps 6 in 3 king size beds as well as a porta-cot and high-chair for babies.
We provide a seasonal welcome pack to get you started, which MAY include – bread, milk, Grainne’s Gorgeous Granola, Cuttaway Creek Jam or a bottle of local wine. Pantry essentials (olive oil, vinegar, S+P, herbs + spices) are also supplied including a selection of teas and Nespresso coffee pods.
There is reverse cycle a/c in the lounge room and 2x bedrooms. Additionally, there are heaters and fans available for the third bedroom if required plus an indoor cast iron free-standing wood burning fireplace.
You have a private garden at the back of the Cottage where you can enjoy a morning coffee or late afternoon drink, whilst gazing out over the surrounding paddocks. This is enclosed but NOT fully fenced.
Feel free to take a stroll in the paddock and chat with our three darling donkeys - Bella, Fancy and Rosie. They are very sociable and love a chat and a pat. Note that although they do love people they are often not so sure of dogs so please don’t let your furry friend off-leash in the paddock – for their own safety.
We do ask that you make sure to close any gates and supervise small children, as there is also a creek in the lower paddock and a dam on the owners property.
Note also that The Southern Highlands are known for unpredictable weather and we often experience power outages. If this should occur we have a small generator to maintain essential water/bathroom connections (which are powered by electric pump).

Cuttaway Cottage has a private driveway entrance. The surrounding gardens & pool are also private, screened by trees and hedges.

Cuttaway Cottage has a full kitchen for cooking or an in-house private chef, with full-size fridge, induction stove-top, full oven, microwave, kettle and 4x slice toaster and all the associated accoutrements.
There is an outdoor BBQ with gas for your use.
We can provide a private chef on request and local suppliers for picnic hampers or pre-prepared meals. To organise this please make enquires with your initial booking. Private chefs require lead time to organise and set up, so confirmed bookings are essential and will require a direct deposit.
Getting around
There is plenty of on-site parking available, so exploring in your own car is a breeze. Southern Highlands Taxis, Limousines and Tourist Coaches offer a fabulous service and have a number of drivers available. Additionally, there are a number of other driver services available that we can put you in touch with if required.
