Welcome to the sweet simplicity of country life. Nestled in a vineyard, our charming three cabins are on a mountainside with 30 acres to explore. A little rugged, and just enough offbeat to keep things interesting.

Stay in or venture along the country lanes through the beautiful Moorabool Valley Wine Region & nearby national parks.

Blame Mabel is just an hour from Melbourne, Ballarat, Daylesford & beaches & 30 minutes from Geelong, The Spirit of Tas & Avalon Airport.

The space
A real sweetie, it’s exactly what you’ve been dreaming of. Perfect for couples or solo travellers, this cabin doesn't shout for attention, it gently whispers sweet nothings. It’s not about being flashy, it’s about being perfectly comfortable and wonderfully spoiled all at once. Every detail has been hand-picked for you to fall in love with.

Your Cabin (cabin 3)

This cozy, sweet cabin is all about charm and simplicity. Inside you'll find a spacious bedroom designed for restful nights and a bathroom that feels more like a retreat.

Imagine sinking into soft French linens, soft natural light pouring in by day, and the perfect curated mood lighting by night.

The bathroom is a true treat, complete with a copper shower and a vintage cast-iron bath that holds warmth like no other, the perfect companion for a long soak with a good book.

The wall radiator heater keeps things warm in winter while the reverse-cycle air conditioner keeps you cool in summer.

For everything else, the communal space is just a short stroll away through mood-lit pathways. This area includes the fully equipped kitchen, a guest lounge with a wood fire, and all the extras you’ll need to enhance your stay, from a yoga mat to books, games, and a BBQ.

Communal Space aka Cellar Door

A short stroll through the vines leads you to the communal space, where you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy guest lounge, and a large outdoor area surrounded by gardens, fairy lights, and a BBQ. The space is shared with guests from the other cabins, offering the perfect balance of privacy and community.

The honesty bar is stocked with wine and G&T, and you’ll find essentials like ground coffee beans, teas, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and muesli. Homemade or homegrown treats are available depending on the season.

Take your time, fill your thermos, and grab a picnic basket. Whether you’re exploring the vineyards or simply soaking in the beauty of your surroundings, this is the place to slow down and enjoy every moment.

Please note, for limited hours on select days, this area also serves as our small, on-site cellar door, where we welcome visitors for tastings. As our staying guests, you're always our VIPs. Feel free to join in, hang out, have a chat, or simply soak up the atmosphere with a glass in hand and board game in sight. The kitchen area remains private and is not accessible to the public at any time.

Our cellar door is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. Sip, savour, and then stroll back to the cabin - no car needed!

We’ve covered the essentials, a yoga mat, a platform under the pines, a picnic basket, books, wine, games, and just the right lighting to set the perfect mood. It’s your time to unwind, in your own way.

Nature lovers will feel at home here, with hiking trails, national parks, wildflowers, and the vineyards of the Moorabool Valley waiting to be explored. Eagles glide overhead, kangaroos graze, and the valley hums with tranquility.

A truly beautiful and unique experience awaits. We welcome you to gently enjoy the gathering of fresh herbs and seasonal produce from the garden as you make your way to the nearby communal kitchen. Drop by the hen house, gather freshly laid eggs and cook them just the way you love them. Soak in the enchanting experience of walking through the vines with a lantern in hand and breathe in that country air.

If a mini wedding or elopement is on the radar, we might be your spot. Think golden fields, dreamy photo ops, twinkly lights, and DIY country charm. Say “I do,” dance under the stars, and stay the night.

Guest access
The property is shared by workers, fellow guests, kangaroos and Mabel the star of the story. Feel free to explore, there are great spots for picnics, sunsets, star gazing and for watching the wedge tail eagles soar above.

Other things to note
Although we adore children, the cabins are strictly for adults only.

We do not accommodate dogs or cats for allergy reasons, we do not have perimeter fencing and out of respect to the native animals.

Anakie is a small rural town supported by a general store that is open 7 days a week. The store provides basic grocery items. The closest supermarkets are 25 minutes away.

We provide a nourishing breakfast of build your own muesli with yoghurt and seasonal fruits.

Please note, access to the cabin is via approximately six stairs so it may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations.

At times during the day, the area can be abuzz with farming vehicles and classic cars. Other vehicles may be active during the day however quieten at night.

Just a heads-up, we’ve got a security camera at the entrance and another in the cellar door area.

A heads up for those on networks other than Telstra, reception can be poor.

We are gently restoring the grounds and vines after not being touched for several years. Please anticipate a perfectly imperfect vineyard.

BUSHFIRE INFORMATION

Anakie is surrounded by national parks. We ask that every guest download the ‘Vic emergency’ app when staying during our warmer periods. This will alert you if any emergency situations are affecting Anakie and give advice on when and how to act.

During our summer period If CATASTROPHIC fire danger days are predicted, bookings will be cancelled for guests' safety, and full refunds will be issued for these days. We will give as much prior notice as possible.

We will always attempt to contact guests if we are made aware of emergency situations, but it is our guest's responsibility to be self-informed via the Victorian Government safety alerts as communication with our guests may be restricted.

Our main priority is to ensure our guests safety.
